procedure that involves implantation of aesthetically
supportive pigments into the patients breast areola region. Most
commonly this is done for patients that have had a mastectomy
and desire a cosmetic enhancement. Usually it is performed
after a surgeon has already done reconstruction. In the event
that a patient didn't undergo reconstruction, areolas can
also be placed for cosmetic balance. Treatment usually takes 2-3
sessions and is performed using topical
anesthetics. If breast reconstruction has
been performed and the surgeon has performed areola repair, regimentation
via micropigmentation may offer some additional aesthetic
enhancement.
